The system for asset management and maintenance is a GSM/GPS based telematic software package known as HiLocate®. Click here to download the PDF presentation.
The HiLocate® Control Centre allows client-level access, both via VPN and Web based application (WebTrak) with flexibility in a multi-user environment. An existing client base comprising courier fleets and taxi trucks, heavy machinery rental companies, local municipal councils and security night patrols (to mention but a few), utilise the comprehensive features of the HiLocate® system benefiting from aspects of fleet management and control systems not achievable prior to its implementation.
The strength is in the reliability of a robust server platform, which is supported by an equally robust “bord-computer” known as HiTrak. Standard features are position determination, area supervision (Geofencing), real-time tracking, event forwarding and 12-36volt compatibility.
The onboard memory buffer is able to store up to 10000 positions and/or events. This data logging capacity will maintain integrity within the referred data and continuity within reports in case of GSM “black spots”.
An optional I-Button DriverID function provides engine immobilisation for any vehicle fitted with the HiTrak. Only authorised and/or restricted use of any company vehicle by way of an electronically coded FOB is permitted. The FOB is inserted prior to the start of any trip. The I-Button then authenticates the code and waits for the driver to make a trip selection for either “Business” or “Private” use. A report can then be generated giving an itemised trip history per vehicle showing times, distance and trip selection for internal auditing of vehicular use. Should the driver not make a valid trip selection or FOB authentication fails, the starting of the vehicle will be inhibited and use is denied.
The authorised user list can be updated wirelessly with units programmed in the field in accordance with any new security protocols within the system. This will provide a more cost-effective management for authorised use of company assets with a primary focus on improving efficiencies. This “rare” quality gives a unique control into the use of these assets with increased safety, accountability and security.
In addition to the standard features, the HiTrak also has the capacity for multiple I/O functionality and can be configured to suit individual requirements. Monitoring of onboard systems such as roof mounted light bars, PTO’s and personal duress make it possible to record the use of these onboard systems for personal safety, OH&S and risk management. Asset security is also available through integration to existing or newly fitted car security systems with alarm/duress event forwarding via email and/or routed SMS notification to authorised personnel as well as the option of alarm/duress notification via the HiLocate® Control Centre to a 24/7 back-to-base external security firm.
Black Widow P/L is a well-established company operating for the past two decades servicing the motor vehicle industry's fleet and security needs. With a nationwide distribution in Australia, and more recently New Zealand, Black Widow P/L is armed with a broad range of high quality systems and a desire to maintain the leading edge in fleet management and security. Together with our German partners ISA Telematics GmbH and EPSa GmbH, Black Widow P/L has been at the forefront of new technologies in developing the best platform for the provision of total integration with expert practical assistance. It is worthy to make note that the HiLocate® Control Centre supports all functions of the EPSa products (such as HiTrak) and it is this fundamental “link” between the hardware and software that makes for an efficient tool for fleet managers, location based service providers and security service providers alike. There are no “third party” incompatibility issues to overcome in order to make things work!
Give a unique perspective in providing realistic and cost effective business solutions for the practical application of control management systems.
A medium sized business allows Black Widow P/L to be more flexible and customer responsive than many of its competitors.
With higher information demands from fleet managers, the amount of data required for asset monitoring is of major consideration. The issue of cost has always been a factor which HiLocate® engineers have worked to resolve through enhanced software compression and improved data transfer. The frequency of reporting can be customized to suit individual needs and data plans.
With the availability of GPRS (providing a major step forward in data transfer cost rationalization), the HiTrak bord-computer has made it a more cost effective means of getting fleet management information back for road motor vehicle usage in the form of automated and ad-hoc reporting without “protracted and administratively time consuming” weekly routines. GPRS data streaming has also led to the possibility of wireless firmware updating for the HiTrak whilst in the field. HiLocate® boasts the first true remote access of units in the field for firmware updating via the comms link, which is both logistically and cost effective.
This has led to less down time. Where once the unit required to be decommissioned for reflashing of updates, it is now simply a press of a button. |
